In early on 2002, half a year after the World Trade Middle attack, Hayden Stone who took early on retirement life from the FBI, is working for the CIA. On his last project to Afghanistan a colleague is killed and Stone blames himself for his fatality. A pal in the upper rates of the CIA offers him an project to the South of France. Stone accepts, thinking this is exactly what he needs to get his life back again on a straight keel: French life on the Côte d'Azur. Well, he's set for a delight. He has little time for the Mediterranean mood, as two terrorists, performing separately, attempt to murder him. Meantime, Stone meets an old love, a contessa, whom he previously seduced and deserted years before. Through a series of setups and encounters, Stone learns a brutal Midsection Eastern terrorist is at Provence to deliver a strain of the Ebola pathogen to major U.S. cities. At the same time, the CIA and French brains have targeted a critically unwell al Qaeda functionary who's seeking medical attention in Nice. Complicating concerns still, a Saudi prince and his son-in-law over a yacht off Villefranche are supporting this al Qaeda amount. They rent the contessa's palace so that, without her knowledge, doctors can administer to the functionary. Stone romances the contessa who adores him, but doesn't trust him and with cause, for he also offers become keen on a young French researcher, who secretly works for French Intelligence. Stone certainly has his hands full.
