In his life time, Evelyn Waugh's personality and his frame of mind to the postwar world aroused almost just as much controversy as his works have admiration. Girl Donaldson of Kingsbridge (1907-1994), a United kingdom copy writer and biographer, was the little girl of Freddie Lonsdale, a playwright. She married John George Stuart Donaldson, Baron Donaldson of Kingsbridge (known as Jack), a left-wing intellectual, cultural worker, and dilettante Gloucestershire farmer, in 1935. As the little girl of the playwright Frederick Lonsdale, she grew up in the frivolous world of 1920s café world, yet she became a dedicated socialist. As the better half of Lord Donaldson who was simply on the table of both London Opera houses and was subsequently Minister for the Arts, Frances Donaldson was at the cultural centre of United kingdom life. Her body of work included matters such as farming, and biographies on freelance writers Evelyn Waugh and P. G. Wodehouse, as well as on her behalf daddy, Freddie. Her biography of King Edward VIII earned the Wolfson Literary Honor and was the foundation for a six-part tv series Edward and Mrs. Simpson, starring Wayne Fox and Cynthia Harris.
