To succeed in their pursuit, Marcus and Kyja must also steer clear of the Keepers of the Balance, an order dedicated to redistributing magic to the wealthy and powerful. And they must travel far underground, where Cascade is unable to follow and where they will be unable to jump to the basic safety of Earth.
