Affiliates thought it was suicidal for him to wade in to the "Florida Terror" at a time when he was irreplaceable to the burgeoning civil rights movement, but the lawyer wouldn't normally shrink from the battle - not following the Klan got murdered one of Marshall's NAACP affiliates involved with the case and Marshall got endured continual risks that he'd be next.
