Venus Over Lannery is charmingly and gracefully written. First shared in 1936, this is one of those great novels that can be savoured from first to keep going with the leisurely excitement that comes only from the true literary gift idea. Martin Armstrong writes with an excellent rightness of decrease, strength and sensitiveness. A number of the descriptive passages are extremely beautiful and is an absorbing listen. Martin Donisthorpe Armstrong (Oct 2, 1882 - Feb 24, 1974) was an British writer and poet, known for his tales. He was born in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, and educated at Charterhouse and Pembroke College, Cambridge. He served in World Warfare I in the British Army in France - an exclusive in the Musicians and artists' Rifles, he was commissioned into the Middlesex Regiment in 1915 and marketed Lieutenant in 1916. He was contained in the final Georgian Poetry anthology. He wedded in 1929 Canadian writer Jessie McDonald after she acquired divorced Conrad Aiken, making Armstrong the stepfather of the young Joan Aiken. He looks in disguised form as a personality in Conrad Aiken's Ushant.
