When they wish to be beautiful, no person recognises them and they're shut out of the house. When they wish to be abundant, they get a collection of gold coins but nobody will need them. When they want wings they find themselves stuck on the tall tower at sunset. When they wish that their baby sibling was old, he becomes a grown-up and bosses them about. When Robert would like he was bigger than the baker's guy (who has beaten him in a scrap) he becomes eleven foot tall. There are many more activities... but you will need to listen and find out for yourselves.... The Phoenix and the Carpet. This is the second account about Robert, Anthea, Cyril, Jane, and their baby sibling, the Lamb - who reside in London. 1 day their mother will buy a fresh carpet for the nursery which mysteriously has a rock egg. Once the egg falls in to the fire by accident, nobody may possibly imagine what activities will be unleashed. The egg hatches the Phoenix who discloses that the carpet is actually a special wishing carpet, that will take the children on the rollercoaster ride of activities, scrapes and mishaps. They wrap up stuck in the tunnel with buried treasure, on the sunny Southern shoreline where their make meals is manufactured Queen of the Island, having tea with the Rania in India, and even though they are in home in Camden town they mysteriously and unexpectedly end up being the owners of unfeasibly large numbers of cats. The Account of the Amulet. The special Psammead is back! This time the four children are caught up in London for the Summer, when they run into the Psammead (or wish-giving sand-fairy), imprisoned in a family pet shop. They manage to free him, and he says them where they can obtain a magic amulet that will bring them their hearts' desire. Regrettably when the amulet is anchored, it is incomplete. They and the Psammead must travel back to ancient history to see the area of the amulet which was lost.
