Each Dec 7 we commemorate the anniversary of the sneak assault on Pearl Harbor. All the US Navy's aircraft companies survived that assault. The central theme of the audio mini-book details the pivotal role enjoyed by those surviving American aircraft companies in the first calendar year of the war. This article also briefly details all the Japanese and American aircraft carriers operating at that time and their relative advantages and weaknesses. It uncovers the location of all the American companies at the precise moment in time of the Pearl Harbor assault and details their deployment and procedures in the entire year soon after the raid. Because of the survival and smart deployment of the companies in 1942, the United States Navy was able to effectively thwart and postpone Japan's military hostility throughout the Pacific regardless of the tragic lack of many battleships and over 2,400 military personnel on Dec 7. This is also a tale of valor and sacrifice as only two of the boats survived that first calendar year. By bravely and stubbornly blunting Japanese thrusts until newly built reinforcements could get there, the surviving aircraft companies and their courageous sailors and airmen exacted a genuine measure of revenge for Pearl Harbor.
