Herbert George Wells (1866-1946) was a prolific British writer of knowledge fiction testimonies and novels and is generally credited as being the father of knowledge fiction. 'The Stolen Body' explains to the storyplot of two men who are tinkering with mind over matter. On prearranged evenings they be seated in their own rooms, two mls aside, and each attempts to make himself apparate in the area of the other. One evening one of the men, Mr. Bessel, succeeds in making himself obvious to his good friend. The good friend rushes anywhere to discuss the success of the experiment - but to his amazement Mr. Bessel's rooms are in disarray, and the man himself has vanished. Later that evening he detects Bessel on the London neighborhood attacking passersby, using his cane as a team. Mr. Bessel disorders and injures him before carrying on his reign of terror across the avenues of London. Yet within a short while, Mr. Bessel has vanished completely, and the secret is complete. But where is he? And what has brought about this awful change in him?
