In August of 1588, a Spanish fleet of 130 boats departed from La Coruña under the control of the Duke of Medina Sidonia. Its goal was to rendezvous with the Spanish army at the Dutch dock of Sluys. At this point, the fleet was to act as a screen while the Spanish army was shuttled over the English Channel in barges. Upon getting, the Spanish invasion push - the best possible professional army on the globe led by the best possible military services commander in European countries - would march to London, seize the crown from Elizabeth, avenge the execution of her Catholic Majesty (Mary Stuart, Queen of Scots), and give back the British crown to a Catholic ruler. But there is one problem: the British fleet. Though much smaller than the Spanish fleet, it was a demonstrably superior preventing push of sailors, boats, naval technology, and guns. In order for the Armada to achieve success, everything must be timed to efficiency, and the practices had to be flawlessly executed. The world's first modern naval engagement was in the making, and neither aspect got the foggiest idea how to combat such a challenge.
