- The Ashland Tragedy: On Dec 24, 1881, three burnt corpses were taken from a residence in Ashland, Kentucky. They belonged to young adults Robert Gibbons, Fannie Gibbons, and Emma Carrico, who acquired all been bludgeoned to fatality. The girls acquired been sexually assaulted. - The Adonis Golf club Massacre: Dec 25, 1925, was the last Christmas on the planet for Irish gangster Richard "Pegleg" Lonergan.
