Some weeks before, Wilson responded to a newspaper want ad offering highly paid work to only redheaded men job seekers. Wilson was hired based on the correct hue of his wild hair color and performed menial work at a decent income. When this profession is suddenly suspended, he enlists Holmes and Watson to find a conclusion. One of his more lighthearted pants, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle positioned it as his second-favorite Sherlock Holmes story.
