In 1917, the fantastic War is completely swing. Young Randall is another lieutenant, and it is lucky enough to escape some of the results of the turmoil by contributing to the invention of your flare, which is of benefit to the allies. He falls deeply in love with a woman a few years his senior, and with the imminence of loss of life ever in a man's head, he hastily marries her. Whilst the flare is a success, his marriage is not. Deceit and adultery enter into play, because of which, Randall is brought to trial for murder. He's completely disorientated by the move of occasions. When asked by Counsel if he actually intended to kill his sufferer, Randall replies: "No....not particularly."
