In a world of rapidly changing worth and traditions, an Indian female enters into an organized marriage to a guy she barely understands and goes to distant Canada. Thirty-year-old Nina is an English instructor living exclusively in Jangpura, India. With diminishing potential clients, she agrees for an established union. Her groom is the Indian-born Ananda, who lives in Canada. He once dreamed of becoming a doctor but resolved for dentistry. He's unhappy, and also in want of the partner. Their life alongside one another is not what either expected. Struggling to find work teaching in Nova Scotia, Nina requires a job at the neighborhood collection. Ananda is troubled by his own response to the sexual areas of their relationship. Assimilating into a new culture pales compared to the studies of marriage - its fluctuations, its inescapable compromises...and the temptations of illicit interest.
