Katrin, a young Polish female who transferred to London before austerity reigned, is working extended hours at the Epicure Cafe in order to earn enough money to bring her mom over as well. In the cafe she falls in love with a lecturer in film studies - but Robin includes a former that will complicate any future they have got jointly. As droves of once-hopeful Polish emigres returning home, Katrin discovers her life growing more difficult, specially when her supervisor in the cafe begins picking on her.
