"From the Looking-Glass" is a book by Lewis Carroll. The designs and options make it a kind of a reflection image of "Alice in Wonderland": it starts outdoors, uses recurrent changes in proportions, and pulls on the imagery of handmade cards; the Looking-Glass starts indoors, uses recurrent changes with time and spatial directions, and pulls on the imagery of chess. In it, there are many mirror designs, including opposites, time operating backwards, etc. So this audiobook is dependant on a casino game of chess, played on a giant chessboard with domains for squares. Most main character types in the storyline are represented with a chess part or pets or animals, with Alice herself being a pawn.

The looking-glass world is divided into portions by brooks or streams, with the crossing of every brook usually signifying a significant change in the landscape and action of the storyline: the brooks stand for the divisions between squares on the chessboard, and Alice's crossing of these signifies improving of her part one square.

Lewis Carroll (real name: Charles Lutwidge Dodgson; 1832-1898) was an British writer, mathematician, logician, Anglican deacon, and professional photographer.
