I have found poetry to be always a wonderfully spiritual way for me to commune with God, and it issues not whether I am writing the poems, or just reading them; a silent serenity comes over me during those times that is a great comfort to my heart and soul. I began my writings more than 30 years ago during a amount of time in my life when I was struggling to sleep well during the night because of a painful back. As a consequence, throughout the night time, I would need to get up to use a heating system pad to get pain relief. It was during this time in my life that I began to read the Bible, which consequently led me to get started writing poetry. I have found the Holy Bible to be most reliable in inspiring ideas and also have also been transferred to write a few of my poems simply by the look of a lovely sunrise or sunset, a mountain view; or simply just a word, a saying, or a picture will pop into my head at times while I'm doing exercises. Many ideas have come to me in my sleep with those times, I am compelled to get right up and go to my computer or to get a pencil and newspaper to jot the theory down before it is forgotten.
