When we talk about money, there are two questions every Believer needs to answer: Does indeed God want His children to be wealthy? What is the purpose of financial wealth? Thankfully both are answered in the scriptures. In regards to the first question 2 Corinthians 8 verse 9 says, "For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was wealthy, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be wealthy." Which means that so far as God is concerned He paid the price for our poverty so that no-one should be poor. You may even ask - Does indeed God want every Believer to become millionaire?" My response is the fact if every Believer became a millionaire you won't bankrupt heaven! We will answer the next question by travelling over to Deuteronomy 8v18 for the response. It says, "But keep in mind god, the father your God, for this is he who offers you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your ancestors, as it is today." Part of that covenant is the fact through people the nations of the planet earth will be blessed. Which means reason God offers financial wealth to the Believer, is to pass on the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the ends of the Earth. Does which means that the Believer shouldn't have a nice house? No. How about a nice car? No. But when that Believer starts accumulating to take on their uncontrolled appetites and for that reason becomes stingy toward God; that person has missed the true purpose.
