But the hypnotist, an interesting young man known as Henri Reverie, gives her an awful present instead: She's able to see people's true natures, manifesting as visions of darkness and goodness, while also struggling to speak her true thoughts out loud. These supernatural challenges only make Olivia more established to speak her head, and so she's drawn into an unhealthy marriage with the hypnotist and his strange motives, all while secretly struggling with for the privileges of women.
