The masterpiece of Rome's ideal poet, Virgil's Aeneid has encouraged generations of visitors and keeps a central devote Western literature. The epic explains to the storyplot of a group of refugees from the ruined city of Troy, whose makes an attempt to reach a promised land in the Western are continually annoyed by the hostile goddess Juno. Finally achieving Italy, their innovator, Aeneas, is required to combat a bitter conflict contrary to the natives to determine the foundations from which Rome is destined to go up. This wonderful poem, in the present day translation by Cecil Day Lewis, is superbly read by David Collins.
