This is the continuing story of any grave digger called John Black color who moonlights as a private detective. The backdrop for this report is New York City in 1948. In the past, what with the mob and everything, Gotham was a hotbed of hoodlums. It had been no surprise then that the City acquired more than its reasonable talk about of murders. For John, there was to be one too many murders - specifically of his boss, Jack Berry. Decided to get to the bottom of things, John confirms himself in over his head as investigations lead him into a murky underworld of graveyards, funeral parlors, and casinos flush with easy money and fast women.
