The Close sisters are descended from very dominant and wealthy ancestors. Once the Close sisters were very young, their parents signed up with a cult called the MRA, or Moral Rearmament. The family was abruptly uprooted to a cult college in Switzerland and, eventually, to the Belgian Congo where their father became a physician in the war-ravaged republic, and ultimately the personal medical professional to President Mobutu. Soon after the girls delivered to the united states for boarding college, Jessie first began to display symptoms of severe bipolar disorder (she would later learn that ran in the family, a well-kept technique). Jessie embarked on a series of destructive relationships as the problem worsened. Glenn was always by her aspect throughout. Jessie's mental condition was offered to her boy, Calen. It wasn't until Calen joined McLean's psychiatric hospital that Jessie herself was diagnosed. Fifteen years and twelve years of sobriety later, Jessie is a stable and productive person in society. Glenn continues to be the major support in Jessie's life. In Resilience, the sisters show their report of triumphing over Jessie's condition. This audiobook is at Jessie's voice with working commentary and an epilogue by Glenn.
