Award-winning narrator Mike Vendetti narrates "The Conflict Prayer", a brief tale or prose poem by Symbol Twain, a scathing indictment of battle and particularly of blind patriotic and spiritual fervor as motivations for battle. The structure of the task is simple: An unnamed country would go to battle, and patriotic residents attend a chapel service for military who've been called up. Folks call upon their God to give them success and protect their troops. Out of the blue an "aged stranger" shows up and announces that he's God's messenger. He talks about to them that he's there to speak aloud the second part with their prayer for success, the part they have got implicitly wished for but have not spoken aloud themselves: the prayer for the hurting and destruction with their enemies. What follows is a grisly depiction of hardships inflicted on war-torn countries by their conquerors. The story ends with the person being ignored.
