Movie star Alan Ladd played Dan Vacation, retired newspaperman changed fiction copy writer and adventurer extraordinaire. To gain ideas for his catalogs, Holiday placed an advertising in the Star-Times publication: "Experience wanted - is going everywhere, do anything - Pack 13." It wasn't long before his Pack 13 became jammed with activities galore. Holiday always got more adventure than he previously originally looked for because those who taken care of immediately his advertising never revealed all their glorious, different, and sometimes sinister details until they attained personally and the experience had already started. Silvia Picker played Holiday's scatter-brained secretary, Suzy. Suzy added details of humor to the mystery-adventure and nail-biting storylines. Pack 13 was produced by Mayfair Productions, a company run by Alan Ladd and Richard Sandville. The name originated from Mayfair Restaurant, which Ladd and Sandville held during World Battle II.
