In 1916, Pancho Villa crossed into New Mexico and attacked the town of Columbus, getting rid of civilians and military, burned the town, and stole equipment. He fled back to Mexico covering in the mountains of Chihuahua. President Woodrow Wilson dispatched Major General Blackjack Pershing and Lieutenant George Patton into Mexico to exact revenge in that which was called the Mexican Expedition. In this tale, Patton uses airplanes and vehicles in a first for warfare and the last calvary demand on horseback chases Pancho through tough Mexican mountains and canyons. Many military in this advertising campaign were Buffalo Troops, units of dark man who excelled in Indian warfare. This true brief tale is a composite of stories informed to me by two hard old Texans who have been in the Mexican boundary wars. Labels have been modified, but most of the events are real.
