Asthma is categorized as a chronic lung condition that narrows and inflames the airways. The disease triggers wheezing when you inhale, shortness of breathing, coughing, and upper body tightness. This sequential response may result in people experiencing asthma symptoms. These symptoms might occur each time airways become swollen.
