Jamie is rebuilding his life after his earlier break free from the Pilo Family Circus, without recollections of the circus besides the clown attire in his cupboard. Way below, as the circus stirs back to life, Jamie confirms himself filled up with urges to be always a clown again (making improper jokes at work, an urge to put up his clown attire, etc.). He also confirms that his friends and family do not trust him because of that night he was found by law enforcement officials in a clown suit with blood vessels on his shoes,and no memory of what happened. But there are those who remember what happened. As the circus rebuilds itself, seeking out past performers and enslaving new ensemble members, Jamie confirms himself drawn back into the dark world of the diabolic big top. But this time around the clown car paint has no effect on him. His evil twin, J. J., is inactive and buried. Jamie feels there is no way to bring back that twisted area of himself. That's until the body is available and reanimated.
