An ancient story stated that Jesus got a twin sibling named Thomas. An extra-biblical word that times from perhaps as soon as the late first hundred years CE (which would make it the same era as the biblical gospels) stated to be the secret teachings of Jesus as documented by "Judas Didymos Thomas". The Greek term "Didymos" and the Aramaic term "Thomas" both mean "twin." While only several Greek fragments of this manuscript, seeing to the first second hundred years CE, actually can be found, a manuscript written in Coptic from the fourth hundred years was learned in 1945. This gospel of Thomas has 114 purported sayings of Jesus, many of which resemble passages in the brand new Testament. Drawing after years of intensive research in early Jewish and Religious background and recent work on the historical Jesus, acclaimed novelist Ron Cooper targets Thomas of Nazareth, old and bitter after years of self-imposed exile from his homeland, who comes back to Jerusalem to write a publication about his indistinguishable twin sibling, Jesus. Disgusted by how others have perverted his brother's note, Thomas wants to set the record upright. But in doing so, he must make an effort to unravel the enigma that was Jesus. Provocative, inventive, and absolute to be controversial, The Gospel of the Twin pulls after scriptural and traditional, non-biblical sources to provide an imaginative version of the founding of Christianity through displays of assault, tenderness, and mistaken personality that changes what sort of world thinks about Jesus. For supporters of such catalogs as Zealot: THE LIFE SPAN and Times of Jesus of Nazareth by Reza Aslan, Getting rid of Jesus by Expenses O'Reilly, and even such Dan Brown novels as The Da Vinci Code, Cooper's The Gospel of the Twin may also charm to listeners of such sophisticated Bible scholars as Bart Erhman, Marcus Borg, John Dominic Crossan, and Elaine Pagels, most of whom have written educational works as well as catalogs more accessible to the general listener.
