On this third volume, a detailed examination is made of the period from Sept 1809 to Dec 1810. This size covers the battles of Ocana, Cadiz and Bussaco. In addition, it examines in detail Massena's march through Portugal to the lines of Terres Vedras, the lines themselves, and his final retreat away in a desperate seek out food. This record, written many years after Napier's, draws its information from more firsthand accounts and corrects a few of more glaring problems and biases of Napier. Although this audiobook is abridged, the one text removed is the fact that in France or Spanish, specifically Appendix 5 and Appendix 11. A small amount of footnotes scattered throughout the reserve in those languages are also omitted. All British words from the appendices and footnotes is present.
