This book is about the stuff you learn when you've functioned for a boss you'd swear jumped out of the Dilbert cartoon; functioned in a business whose performance careened along like a runaway clown car; when you've experienced legal or moral issues that needed the wisdom of Solomon to sort out while they roiled your guts during the night; or when you've sat on the stand across from some third-rate Perry Mason, or attempted to be one yourself. It's in what you learn when you've knocked yourself out to put measurable six-figure cost savings back on the business's important thing; or when an employee pleads on her behalf job with tears in her eye as she is through her pearly whites to your face, or when you've experienced down an employee who was spoiling for any chance he could easily get to sue your organization crippled; or maybe when you've dealt with the employee who told his supervisor he's going to shoot himself. Like almost everyone else, whenever I've cleaned up some recruiting clutter - or made one of my own - I would learn something which i tucked in my own rear pocket, to grab as needed when something similar popped up. Some individuals call this their tote of methods or wisdom. I've always considered it as my little dark-colored book. Practically, anybody with 15 or so years of experience may have created this publication, and surely some would have done better. I assume I just considered it first. I can't do much about this, but I hope that a peek through my little dark-colored publication of HR will spare you, dear listener, a few bloody noses in your HR career or shave a few levels from your learning curve. That is a chapter-level publication. The full publication can be found as The Little Black Book of RECRUITING Management.
