"If you need to know men's secrets Or if there's something you will need to find If you wish to see the dinosaurs Or the insides of your mind. If you wish to watch the earth begin, Or see the particular apocalypse will leave in back of, You will need to say thanks to Alice Anderson, For Alice is the mom of your time." That was the way the rhyme went. Each and every time traveler knew it. Everyone that is, except of course, for Alice herself, since she hadn't developed time travel yet. Since time for London, Alice's life has been turned ugly. She's been accused of murder and lost her position in the technological community. Her only ally in this voyage is a strange man who appears to feel that Alice may be about to open up a strange " new world " of possibilities, but is typically not telling her everything he understands. Obviously fake estimates made-up by the writer for the purpose of filling up space on the back of the reserve:
- "The torch has been handed down to a odd era." - John F. Kennedy
- "I recall enough time David came up over for refreshments. 'Twas the best of times, it 'twas the worst of times.' No, wait, it was just the worst of times. Because of the by, precisely what is 'Tequila?''" - Charles Dickens
- "The very first time I fulfilled David, he explained how much he liked my reserve. I said "Which?" and he said "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban." It type of went downhill after that." - Jane Austen
