It's August, 1929. Fresh and rested from his case within the Daedàlus Conspiracy in July, which needed him to the Daedàlus Grove in North California to foil an assassination try out, Cyrus Skeen hires a new secretary, the promisingly ready Clara Reyes. Immediately after that, he's contacted by a guy, Bruce Willowman, who needs him to try to find the murderer of his younger sibling, Beauregard, in SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA five years before. It appears that the man was murdered by way of a nun, a member of the Sisters of the Apostolic Beliefs, who drove a small crucifix through one of his eyes. The man seemed to have been drunk and had been booted from a high-class brothel close to the Apostolic Beliefs convent, and then attacked the nun. The nun eventually disappeared from the convent. The police know her name and have her fingerprints, but cannot find her. The murder is currently five years old, and the murderess, if found, wouldn't normally be protected by way of a statute of limitations. The victim's sibling received a note from somebody who claimed to acquire witnessed the harm on the nun, which now she got seen the murderess nearby the convent days and nights before. When Skeen reads the take note which provides the murderess' name, he's shocked to learn that it's someone he and his wife, Dilys, know very well.
