This thought-provoking novella is an extensive update or re-imagining of my 1999 novella Eden in Limbo. It is told in three parts, the first from the perspective of a spiritual guru-type and the next two from many other amusing characters who listen to the master and take notice of the bizarre things that happen, like a mad monk holding the master at gunpoint and later stalking a journalist. Eden at Play is spiritual satire, but it also has spiritual depth to make listeners think about life and their beliefs or non-faith. Poetry is roofed as well as a brief, poetic version of the storyline which has a curious child asking his parents questions about the mythological Garden of Eden and death. It is rather sensitively explained and life-affirming. I likewise incorporate most of the short epilogue from the 1999 novella, reflections of my voyage as a writer, and suggestions of books brought up in the novella.
