Are you finding your way through a significant surgery? Recent medical research signifies that led imagery is an effective way to maximize the body's therapeutic resources and take the stress out of surgery. Martin L. Rossman, MD, reveals Getting ready for Surgery, some simple imagery techniques which can profit patients with quicker recoveries, fewer issues, less pain, and less bleeding after operations. Includes three exercises to support a successful surgery and faster recovery. Suggestions for dealing with guided imagery:
- For your own safety and the safety of others, never listen to guided-imagery exercises while you are driving or operating dangerous equipment
- A silent, darkened place, or an eyesight pillow, could make it better to concentrate
- Try earphones or audio speakers if you have the choice and see which you like
- Get comfortable and feel free to move anytime to stay comfortable
- Let your answering machine answer the phone, turn off the ringer, or unplug the phone
- Inform your housemates that you'd like to be undisturbed for approximately thirty minutes unless there's a genuine emergency
- Taking a while to create or draw about your experience afterward is an excellent way to deepen your experience with your led imagery.
