Life Takes Guts is my account about the tragedies I've experienced and come through that have made me an improved person. With determination, courage, faith, and a never-give-up soul, I am proud of who I've become today. Because of that truth, I could overcome all odds that may have brought on many to stop and quit. My life story took a sharp turn after i was 2 yrs old. Tragically, I lost my dad in an car accident. Soon afterward, my grief-stricken mother met a guy who wined her and dined her, generally for her insurance money. I used to be four when this same man was brought into my life as my stepfather. He abused me emotionally, sexually, bodily, and mentally from that day until I used to be 16. I used to be removed from our home by specialists and placed into two different foster homes within my senior season of senior high school. I came across myself pregnant at 18 by a guy I enjoyed, yet experienced no idea he was wedded. At 19, I became a mother to my child, Hannah. Sadly, at 21, I became pregnant by another man I hardly knew and gave that child up for adoption at labor and birth. When Hannah was seven, I wedded. The only real problem was, at the time, I needed no idea he was an alcoholic. He was abusive bodily, mentally, and emotionally. During the years of our marriage, I needed two sons, Kenneth and Michael. After a decade of hearing his empty offers to get sober, I finally experienced the courage to leave. Give thanks to God I did, for my children and myself. After this time, I traveled around Michigan while working for a countrywide food service management company. Later in Reno, Nevada, I proved helpful various jobs while encouraging my two children. After being terminated from a good job while aiming to buy a home, I made a decision to go to Hawaii, land of heaven, on New Year's Eve in 1979 and start a new life in heaven with my youngest, Michael, who was simply eight years of age. Kenneth was going to his dad in Michigan in those days. In Hawaii, I rented a five bedroom house and could make the payment by renting out the excess bedrooms. I used my grandmother's example of how she supervised with six children. Eventually, I could buy that house, including the ground rent. After it liked in value, I started out a short-term local rental business in Waikiki by purchasing two one-bedroom systems. That soon grew into eight systems. I used to be the first Caucasian (Haole) who was simply employed by the Office of Education Food Service Office in Hawaii. This is actually the account of hardships suffered and extreme troubles I faced during the course of my life. And exactly how, by the sophistication of God, I could move through and turn out on the other side.
