The Black Goat is a short story that takes on a contemporary procedure of the star of Van Hunks and the devil. Jan truck Hunks is down and out, a working alcoholic who is fighting a divorce from his better half. One wintry nighttime, he decides to escape the handbags of his studio room apartment in the center of Cape Town and go out to get the darkest bar he is able to. He meets a mysterious identity on the way who advises him against his journey. Van Hunks doesn't heed this advice and endeavors into an old pub called The Black Goat, where he encounters someone or something of huge evil....
