A happy crowd, encouraged by the heart of Xmas, was milling joyously in Times Square, NY. Suddenly, slicing through the looks of gaiety, emerged a shrill whine. It became louder, with the second of midnight, a gigantic shell exploded, eradicating, maiming, and destroying! At 12-hour intervals thereafter - no man recognized beforehand where - another shell burst devastatingly. Two great powers were openly accused in the newspaper publishers. Conflict - savage and bloody - was imminent, and Operator #5 noticed that he had experienced his most cunning foe: the brilliant female spy Radi Havara! Jimmy Christopher was the celebrity of the very most audacious pulp magazine ever conceived. Using the rise of Western european fascism by means of Benito Mussolini of Italy, Adolf Hitler of Nazi Germany, and Basic Francisco Franco of Spain - not forgetting myriad less despots and dictators - People in the usa began to fear for his or her future. The dread of being drawn into a second world battle became a subject of grave matter in that Unhappiness calendar year of 1934. At pulp magazine publisher Popular Publications, they took word of this isolationist pattern and commissioned article writer Frederick C. Davis to help create a hero for his or her new monthly magazine, entitled Top secret Service Operator #5. "The Red Invader" is read with stirring depth by Milton Bagby.
