Dubliners is a collection of 15 short experiences by Wayne Joyce, first published in 1914. They form a naturalistic depiction of Irish middle income life in and around Dublin in the early years of the 20th hundred years. The initial experiences in the collection are narrated by child protagonists, and since the experiences continue, they package with the lives and concerns of gradually older people. This really is consistent with Joyce's tripartite department of the collection into years as a child, adolescence, and maturity. The experiences were written when Irish nationalism was at its top, and a search for a national identification and goal was raging. At a crossroads of history and culture, Ireland was jolted by various converging ideas and influences. They focus on Joyce's notion of an epiphany: a moment where a character activities a life-changing self-understanding or brightness. Many of the character types in Dubliners later come in minor roles in Joyce's book Ulysses.
