In his 1997 work Weapons, Germs, and Metallic, American geography professor and environmental historian Jared Stone looks to answer fully the question of why history unfolded in a different way on different continents, and just why power and riches became distributed as they are. Drawing on facts from a diverse selection of disciplines, Stone argues that the varying rates of individual development over the past 13,000 years experienced very little regarding genetic superiority. These are down to differences in environments. Differences across continents in untamed plants and in animal species that could be domesticated played a component. Differences in the sizes of areas and populations performed too.
