In 1920, Vincent Starrett privately imprinted The Unique Hamlet: A Hitherto Unchronicled Trip of Mr. Sherlock Holmes, a novelette concerning a unusual model of Shakespeare's play. The model is believed to have consisted of 110 copies, which about 50 remain known to exist among lovers. Starrett, no stranger to fiction, wrote thoroughly in the unknown field, including the 1975 e book, The Private Life of Sherlock Holmes. He also created his own Chicago-based detective, Jimmy Lavender, whose tales are extremely much in the Holmes traditions.
