The Columbia Workshop radio theatre was ground breaking in giving creators, directors, sound engineers, and composers many opportunities to experiment with the use of audio as a tool for improving narrative. Columbia Workshop received a 1946 Peabody Award for Exceptional Entertainment in Crisis.
