The "Songs of Innocence" were posted in 1789 and republished in 1794 alongside the "Songs of Experience". They represent Blake's two perspectives on the earth, that of the kid (innocence) and that of the adult (experience). Blake's poetical works were mainly neglected in their own time but are today considered a few of the most brilliant of British verse. The "songs" are offered here together with "Auguries of Innocence".
